Artist Partnerships
Create With OLAM
OLAM Studios is an independent, artist-centered creative home built around partnership rather than ownership.
Our goal is to help artists develop their work, strengthen their artistic identity, release music responsibly, and build sustainable careers while retaining ownership of what they create.
What we offer
A creative home, built around partnership.
Depending on the individual partnership, OLAM may assist with areas such as:
- Creative development
- Production
- Recording
- Release planning
- Distribution coordination
- Visual identity
- Marketing
- Catalog organization
- Collaboration
- Sync preparation
- Licensing opportunities
- Connections within the wider OLAM Studios network
OLAM Studios is also growing and learning. We will not claim to have every answer or every resource in-house. When an artist encounters a need that falls outside our current expertise or capabilities, we will do everything reasonably possible to identify the issue, research the available options, and connect the artist with the most effective qualified resource, professional, service, or collaborator available within or through the OLAM Studios network.
Ownership & rights
You keep what you create.
Artists generally retain ownership of their masters, publishing, artist identity, name, likeness, and personal brand, subject to legitimate co-writer, producer, collaborator, or other rights-holder interests. Any rights granted to OLAM should be clearly defined by the individual agreement and connected to what OLAM is actually contributing.
OLAM does not select artists based on follower count, popularity, wealth, industry status, or genre.
What we look for
Talent, character, and the willingness to grow.
We are looking for artists who demonstrate:
- Genuine talent or clearly developable artistic ability
- Commitment to their craft
- An authentic or promising sound and artistic identity
- Professionalism and reliability
- Honesty and integrity
- Respect for other people
- Personal responsibility
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Healthy collaboration and communication
- Long-term purpose rather than only short-term attention
- Habits and characteristics that reflect OLAM's core values
- An ability to acknowledge mistakes, make corrections, and continue developing
OLAM does not claim to know or measure a person's inner character perfectly. We evaluate observable habits, decisions, conduct, relationships, and patterns over time.
Characteristics OLAM seeks include love expressed through action, joy, peaceable conduct, patience, gentleness, goodness, dependability, humility, self-control, responsibility, and a willingness to grow.
Some repeated patterns would rule an artist out — dishonesty, exploitation, harassment, coercion, violence or threats, dehumanizing treatment of others, sabotage, chronic harmful conflict, substance misuse that creates safety or reliability problems, or a consistent refusal to accept responsibility.
Artists are not expected to be perfect. Personal growth matters. The way someone responds to mistakes, correction, conflict, and responsibility can be as important as the mistake itself.
Good-faith disagreement is not disloyalty. Artists may disagree with OLAM regarding music, production, business decisions, creative direction, culture, or other matters. The standard is whether those disagreements can be handled honestly, respectfully, and constructively.
Talent matters
Character alone is not enough.
Artistic ability is also essential. Character alignment alone does not automatically qualify someone to become an OLAM Studios artist.
Artists do not need to arrive fully developed. OLAM should remain capable of recognizing potential as well as demonstrated skill. But an artist must demonstrate genuine talent or meaningful potential for development. OLAM is not simply an open membership organization in which anyone automatically becomes a signed artist.
Who may apply
All genres. Everywhere.
OLAM Studios is open to all genres of music. There is no single required OLAM sound.
Artists may work in soul, alternative music, hip-hop, rock, electronic music, jazz, classical or contemporary instrumental music, experimental styles, singer-songwriter music, fusion, or genres that have not yet been created.
The common standard is not genre. It is the combination of:
talent + artistic identity + character + commitment + personal growth + purpose + compatibility with OLAM's core values.
OLAM is primarily intended for emerging, developing, and independent artists who are looking for genuine long-term creative partnership. Established independent artists may also be considered when the relationship makes sense for both the artist and OLAM.
Artist submissions should be welcomed worldwide. International artists may be considered wherever a responsible and practical partnership can be established. Because laws, taxes, royalty systems, contracts, distribution requirements, and other business matters vary by country, each international partnership should be evaluated individually.
OLAM Studios should remain open to people from different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, perspectives, and ways of life. What matters institutionally is not whether everyone thinks or speaks alike, but whether the artist's observable character, habits, conduct, creative purpose, and way of treating people are compatible with OLAM's core values.
How applications are reviewed
Seven steps, considered carefully.
Artist candidates are first reviewed and filtered through the established Board process. Finalists are then reviewed by the ownership group — currently three owners, or four if a fourth owner is formally admitted — including an evaluation of the artist's talent, sound, identity, readiness, and overall fit. The final decision follows the governance and decision-making process established in OLAM Studios' plans and procedures.
- Submission
- Administrative Review
- Board Review and Filtering
- Ownership Group Review and Listening
- Final Decision Through OLAM's Established Governance Process
- Artist Conversation
- Agreement and Partnership Planning
After selection
A conversation, then a plan.
If the final decision is to move forward, the next step is a conversation with the artist, followed by an agreement and partnership planning.
How to submit
Send us your music.
Artist submissions should be directed to artists@olamstudios.com — a dedicated channel for artist inquiries, submissions, and future roster communication, separate from the general info@olamstudios.com address.
The initial application should remain simple and accessible. Please include:
- Artist name
- Legal name, where appropriate for administrative purposes
- City and country
- Contact email
- Links to 2–3 songs that best represent your work
- A short artist biography or introduction
- Your genre or musical style, in your own words
- Social-media or artist-profile links, if available
- What you are currently creating or preparing to release
- Your long-term goals as an artist
- What you are looking for from OLAM Studios
- Why you believe OLAM Studios may be a good partnership for you
- Whether you currently own or control the submitted recordings
- Information about any co-writers, producers, managers, publishers, labels, collaborators, or other people or organizations with rights or contractual interests in the submitted music
Follower counts, streaming statistics, professional photography, press coverage, or an established fanbase are not required for the initial submission.
Submitting music to OLAM Studios does not create a contractual relationship and does not transfer ownership of the submitted music or other intellectual property.
Questions
Before you send your music.
Do I need a big following to apply?
No. OLAM does not select artists based on follower count, popularity, wealth, industry status, or genre — and follower counts, streaming statistics, professional photography, press coverage, or an established fanbase are not required for the initial submission.
Do I keep my masters and publishing?
Generally, yes. Artists generally retain ownership of their masters, publishing, artist identity, name, likeness, and personal brand, subject to legitimate co-writer, producer, collaborator, or other rights-holder interests. Any rights granted to OLAM are clearly defined by the individual agreement and connected to what OLAM is actually contributing.
What genres do you accept?
All of them. OLAM Studios is open to all genres of music — soul, alternative, hip-hop, rock, electronic, jazz, classical or contemporary instrumental, experimental, singer-songwriter, fusion, and genres that have not yet been created. There is no single required OLAM sound.
Can I apply from outside the United States?
Yes. Artist submissions are welcomed worldwide. International artists may be considered wherever a responsible and practical partnership can be established, and each international partnership is evaluated individually, since laws, taxes, royalty systems, contracts, and distribution requirements vary by country.
Does sending my music transfer my rights?
No. Submitting music to OLAM Studios does not create a contractual relationship and does not transfer ownership of the submitted music or other intellectual property.
What happens after I submit?
Your submission moves through seven stages: Submission, Administrative Review, Board Review and Filtering, Ownership Group Review and Listening, Final Decision Through OLAM's Established Governance Process, Artist Conversation, and Agreement and Partnership Planning. If the final decision is to move forward, we talk with you first — then agree the partnership and plan it together.
